Title: Matutolypea
2D: Cyanotype print, collage
3D: Physical model made with air dry clay
4D: Digital animation
Reflective: interactive web experienceSoftware: Photoshop, After Effects, HTML/CSS
Matutolypea is a semester-long visual exploration created for a Graphic Design course, responding to a single word across 2D, 3D, and 4D formats. Matutolypea describes waking up on the wrong side of the bed or experiencing morning grief. The 2D print uses collage and cyanotype printing to explore memory and mourning, incorporating faded photographs, film negatives, and handwritten text from my late grandmother. The soft, imperfect cyanotype process reflects the fragility of memory and personal loss. The 3D piece interprets the phrase more literally through a model bedroom in disarray, an unmade bed, clutter, and scattered objects representing the emotional weight and stagnation of a difficult morning. For the 4D work, I created an animation based on a poem written by a friend, expressing guilt, overwhelm, and the pressure to function while emotionally unprepared. The project concludes with an interactive website that mirrors the cyclical nature of grief. Viewers choose to either relive the experience or reminisce, revealing fragments of my design process and reinforcing the non-linear relationship between memory, emotion, and time.
Title: All Apologies
Software: Photoshop
These two posters rework lyrics from All Apologies by Nirvana through distressed typography and fragmented language to explore themes of repetition, blame, and emotional exhaustion. By breaking the lyrics into phrases and adding breaks in between words, the lyrics get space to breath and sit with the viewer. It reflects how apologies can feel worn down through overuse, losing clarity while still carrying weight. The visual treatment mirrors the song’s quiet frustration and self-blame, emphasizing the tension between wanting forgiveness and feeling permanently at fault.
Title: Breaktime Redesign
Software: Photoshop, Illustrator
Designers: Anoop Sidhu, Lily Rickels, and Nadia Amegbeto
This redesign highlights Dare Breaktime Cookies’ focus on family traditions, product quality, and care. Clear flavour differentiation was introduced through warm, natural colours and patterned flavour indicators, reinforcing a wholesome, family-oriented appeal. The original Breaktime logo was retained, while a body typeface inspired by 1950s branding connects the redesign to the brand’s history.A half-circle motif and circular compositions create shelf rhythm and visual continuity across the package, referencing gathering and shared moments. Updated product photography centers the cookie as the focal point, supported by wheat illustrations that nod to whole grains and traditional folk art. “Made Better” promises were elevated on the PDP through icons, positioning quality and dietary accessibility as key selling points. A revised planogram, inspired by a bakery box, improves accessibility for sharing while elevating the packaging’s perceived quality without sacrificing affordability.
Title: Ecolume.exe
Software: Photoshop, After Effects
This motion design project is a title sequence for a fictional film centered on a computer virus that resurfaces deleted photos, texts, and emails tied to suppressed emotions. The sequence visualizes data as memory, using glitch, distortion, and layering to suggest the instability of both digital systems and emotional memories. As fragments of erased content reappear, the motion reflects how pictures and text messages can unintentionally bring back feelings of grief, guilt, and unresolved relationships. The title sequence establishes the film’s tone by blurring the boundary between corrupted data and emotional exposure, framing the virus as both a technical threat and an emotional disruption.
Title: ABCs of Constellations
Software: Photoshop, After Effects
This project explores celestial storytelling through a constellation-inspired visual system. Using a soft, dreamlike night sky as the foundation, I reimagined constellations as playful, illustrated forms that balance structure and imagination. Layered clouds, glowing stars, and a limited color palette create a sense of calm and wonder, while the composition emphasizes movement and depth. The final piece reflects my interest in educational yet whimsical design, blending visual clarity with a sense of curiosity and discovery.
Title: Projection Mapping
Software: Blender, After Effects
This project is a projection mapping study. This bedroom scene was modeled in Blender and then projected onto a cube using After Effects. The room captures a quiet moment of peace. This project plays with scale and perspective, using projection to explore intimacy, confinement, and how spaces can hold emotion.
Title: The Grunge Chronicles
Software: HTML/CSS, After Effects
Grunge Chronicles is a personal web archive created from my interest in grunge music and its raw, imperfect visual language. The site explores the history and cultural impact of the movement through a timeline with details about the origin, its peak, and what grunge looks like now. Built with HTML and CSS, the project balances a deliberately distressed aesthetic with clarity and accessibility, reflecting how grunge embraces emotion, resistance, and authenticity over polish.
Title: Whale Wonders
Software: HTML/CSS/JS, Photoshop
Whale Wonders is an interactive website designed to introduce children to the world of whales through exploration, play, and storytelling. The site combines simple interactions, illustrations, and educational content to make complex ideas like ocean zones and migration feel approachable and fun. Built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, the project reflects my interest in designing experiences that are informative without feeling overwhelming, balancing clarity, accessibility, and a sense of wonder.
Title: Character Search
Software: HTML/CSS/JS
Character Search is an interactive website that allows users to explore and filter through a collection of characters. The website was created to strengthen my Java Script skills and reflects my interest in systems and categorization. Built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
